PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 22nd season launched today, with 10 races across the country. Last season saw more than 274,000 spectators watched the 2014 Cub Prix live at 10 venues and viewed by 11,167,182 people via live telecast over RTM 1.DSC_0408 (Medium)

This season will see an increased of the number of young rider following the footsteps of Azlan Shah, Hafizh Syahrin, Zulfahmi Khairuddin and latest Moto2 rider Zaqwhan Zaidi, using Cub Prix as a stepping stone to regional and international racing.

With Petronas’s continued support and involvement in Cub Prix, the opportunity to develop young, competitive and resilient racing athletes to reach their goals is Petronas’s core objective.

The success of the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship is made possible by Safe Aim Mutual and Two Wheel Motor Racing who are the backbone of the event.

DSC_0413 (Medium)New team rules are introduce this year, the premier class CP130, teams are allowed to field 3-man line up. Prize money will be increased and paid to top-10 riders of each CP130 final compare to eight last season.

“The CP130 class represents the cream of the crop of Cub Prix. Therefore its only fair that we raise the championship standard  and make the sport more exciting by introducing the new rule,” said Ron Hogg Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd’s Promotions Director.DSC_0420 (Medium)

In addition there are also good news to the spectators as the Title Sponsor Petronas will be giving away not ONE but TWO Yamaha Legenda motorcycle each round.

A new and improve Cub Prix Clinic will be conducted by former Malaysian GP Rider, Shahrol Yuzy as well as other prominent Cub Prix riders, will see a practical aspect and allow young hopefuls to gain a taste of what is like as a proffesional rider. The first clinic will be held at a local school, in Temerloh, Pahang where the first round of the Cub Prix will be held.
