Learning from Heartbreak: The Turning Point
How did you feel after missing out on the title last year?
“Losing a championship is always hard, but it also serves as a learning lesson. I took time to analyze every aspect of my performance—my strengths and weaknesses. I realized that beyond just speed, I needed to improve my emotional control and mental resilience. Now, I’ve learned how to enjoy the moment, which was something I struggled with before.”
The 2024 Mindset Shift
Did you approach this season differently after coming so close in 2023?
“Absolutely. I spent the offseason reflecting on everything—the good and the bad. I trained harder, identified areas where I had fallen short, and made sure I improved in those aspects. The key was focusing not just on physical preparation, but also on my mental approach.”
What changed in your mental approach this year? You seemed more in control.
“I worked a lot on personal discipline, controlling emotions, and staying composed in critical moments. My personal team became more united, and I surrounded myself with people who helped me stay in the best possible mindset. That made all the difference in high-pressure situations.

The Physical Grind: Staying Strong Over a Long Season
Have there been any changes in your physical training? How do you maintain focus and endurance?
“The type of training remains similar, but I’ve adjusted the duration and techniques. Cycling is a major part of my regimen, along with strength training and riding the bike. Another key change has been managing my diet more efficiently to keep my energy levels at their peak throughout the season.”
The Rivalry with Pecco Bagnaia
You and Pecco were once Moto3 roommates. Does this rivalry feel personal?
“The rivalry is always the same with any rider. At the end of the day, we all have one goal: to win. Pecco and I have known each other for years and have a good relationship, but when it comes to the championship fight, it doesn’t matter who’s on the other side. I would fight just as hard against anyone.”
What It Takes to Become a MotoGP™ Champion
What are the three key factors behind your success?
“Perseverance, confidence, and effort. These are the qualities that have pushed me forward since my days in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup. That competition prepares you to be at your best every single race weekend, and it laid the foundation for my career.”
When times get tough, what do you tell yourself?
“I look back at everything I’ve overcome. I see how far I’ve come, the people around me, and the team that supports me. That’s when I remind myself: You have to keep pushing forward. You have what it takes.“
