In 2012 KTM Malaysia CKD, launched the Duke 200, and less than a year ago the RC 200, and the RC390, today KTM launch the RC250 and Duke 250 ahead of schedule, which was said end of 2015.
However the the RC 250 and the Duke 250 is not just a displacement upgrade of the popular 200 series but additional enhancement not only a 49 cc increase in displacement, superlight weight 37.2 kg engine that produce a 31 hp (24Kw) at 9,000 rpm and 24Nm at 7,250 rpm but also including a new anti-hopping clutch (slipper clutch), BOSCH 38mm throttle body fuel injection and BOSCH 9MB two channel ABS as standard roll out package of the RC250 and Duke 250, that is not seen in the 200 nor the 390 series. KTM hopes to impact the quarter liter segment which are the entry level segment.
Standard tyres are fitted with Pirelli Rosso II.
The RC 250 and the Duke 250 will be available through out the KTM CKD 76 authorized Dealer network. Price excluding GST is RC250 RM18,888 and the Duke 250 is RM17,888.
Overview RC 250
KTM has started the domination of super sport category bikes in Malaysia from its launch of the RC 200 and the RC 390 bikes. A new variant in the same category has been announced which follows the same path and is named as the KTM RC 250. The quarter litre bike features performance with a blend of economy.
Design & Style
The KTM RC 250 shares the same design as the other RC’s but shares its white side body with the elder RC 390. The ground clearance and seat height remains the same as on the older RC bikes making it clear to the riders that choose your performance option, the style would be complimentary for all the models. Engine & Performance
RC 250 has a 248.8 cc engine producing nearly 31 HP @ 9000 rpm and 24 NM of torque @ 7250 rpm. The single cylinder, liquid cooled unit also uses the power assisted slipper clutch with anti-hopping technology. The engine is a lightweight unit, with 37.2 kg weight and also is classified as the strongest unit in its class. Brakes & Suspension
The braking for the front is handled by a 300 mm disc brake with 4-pot brake caliper and the rear is managed by a 230 mm disc with 1-pot brake caliper. It inherits its 43 mm upside down WP suspension for the front and a WP suspension at the rear from its ancestors. ABS is standard on RC 250.

Overview Duke 250
Design & Style
KTM 250 Duke has the same naked designing as the other Duke Flagship models. The orange framework below its body line is a sure shot head turner, making it an intensely appealing substance on the road.
Engine & Performance
The 250 Duke has a 248.8 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine, producing a peak of 31 HP @ 9000 rpm and 24 NM of torque @ 7250 rpm. The new machine uses a power assisted slipper clutch with anti-hopping technology. It has the same 6-speed transmission which is used on the earlier Dukes. Sharing the same performance oriented vision of its elder brothers; the continuous flow of cooling liquid with water pump helps it to stay calm after those hard sprints also. The ultra-light weight engine adds up to the performance of the street machine.
Brakes & Suspension
The braking is handled in the front by a disc brake measuring 300 mm with 4-pot brake caliper and the rear is managed by a disc of 230 mm with 1-pot brake caliper. It retains its 43 mm upside down WP suspension for the front and a WP monoshock suspension at the rear from its ancestors, having a 150 mm travel of both the suspensions.
Comfort while Riding
Riding position of the KTM Duke 250 is ideal for every kind of terrain it faces. The ground clearance of 170 mm makes it safe from the road obstacles and the 800 mm seat height makes it comfortable for those with an average height.
