An dramatic Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand saw Valentino Rossi’s dog fighing with Marc Marquez reach an explosive end.
Already the tension with Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) and Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) had been building since last Thursday.
As predicted the battle was fierce as the duo passed each other multiple times in the battle for 3rd place, allowing Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) to pull a gap. On sixth lap there was a “race incident” between the two, as they touched at Turn 14, saw Marquez lost his front end and going down.
After that it was a solitary race for Rossi, who claimed third on the podium +13.724 unable to close on the leaders Pedrosa who finish first with a time of 40:37.691 and Lorenzo +3.612.
Both Rossi and Marquez we review by Race Direction for after the race. After the race Rossi was awarded three penalty points, bringing him to a total of four and will therefore start the final race of the year in Valencia from last on the grid. Rossi’s lead in the championship is cut to just seven points.
