KTM 390 DUKE BATTLE
In the 3rd Round the KTM 390 Duke Battle further enhance the image of this pocket rocket, it’s performance has been proven so far with two races over the weekend, besides the 15 racer; another group of 12 journalists from the Media were also given the opportunity to race in a separate race. This is also as a token of appreciation to the media that always been very supportive.
After a successful race in Melaka & Kedah, the KTM 390 Duke Battle Round 3 was held at the “Speedway PLUS Circuit” with another 15 very lucky racer who had respond via email selected on the first-come-first-serve basis to join the competition.
The 3rd round started with 15 racers (Public) into the circuit for a 10 lap of practise. With a short & hilly track, the speed, agility, braking & suspension of the bikes were put into extreme test. Surface of the track was quite slippery after a heavy rain in the early morning. However, all 15 riders shown high enthusiasm & always ready to race. They were all grin from ear to ear. The Race 1 session for public was held at 5.00pm.
12 Media representative got their first ride on the KTM 390 Duke machine for almost 20 minutes on track, a free ride as practise as well as qualifying for Sunday Race 1 & 2. A few of them took a dip, tumbling down & crash at corner, but luckily no one had serious injury.
In this unpredictable weather conditions, these riders now able to give us their opinion on all aspects of the character of the KTM 390 Duke. Big power & a small lightweight chassis are a great recipe for fun on the road & on any circuit.
On the second day, it started with Media Race in the morning, weather was great. Sun was shining so brightly & for the first time KTM 390 Duke Battle was also shot via a remote controlled helicopter to get an amazing footage.
The first Media Race goes well. No crash, no injury, they rode hard & attack every corner with courage & will to win. By afternoon, time for Race 2; everyone showed their true colour, no mercy & no more Mr Nice Guy… they rode fast & gave their very best. Adam Muza of BikesRepublic.com emerged as a winner, 2nd Place won by – RC.Moto of i-Moto.com.my & a biker from TV3 bikers’ club ; Mr Ridzuan finished 3rd.
After the media Race, it was time for the 15 racer to be in the track for their Race 2.
It was the last Race for the day & saw a gruelling battle between experienced rider, Hanif Borhan , former go-kart & speedboat racer & Zafir Zarkasha, a young rider .
By end of 10 laps, Zafir Zarkasha won the battle, followed by Hanif Borhan and 3rd place was Hanif Zakaria. 1st place winner received a trophy, Cash RM 700 ; while the second place winner got a trophy & RM 500 & finally third place brought back home RM300 & a trophy.
Yang Berusaha, Tn Hj Mohd Noor, of Ministry of Youth present all prizes to the 3 winners. Next KTM 390 Duke Battle will take place at Dato Sagor, Perak 6th-7th September 2014
