Petronas Yamaha SRT Franco Morbidelli took the holeshot and lead all the way to his first MotoGP win and became the fifth different winner this season, while Fabio Quartararo, has a mistake and crashed while overtaking Maverick Vinales. A heartbreak for Valentino Rossi as he was piped by Joan Mir in the last lap for the third position, denying Rossi of a 200 podium. Pramac Ducati rider Francesco Bagnia returning from injury took his first podium in second.
Pole-setter Maverick Vinales finished 6th with Alex Rins took fifth.
