Ducati Hits 100 MotoGP Wins: A Historic Milestone for the Bologna Brand

Ducati has once again cemented its place in MotoGP history by becoming the first European manufacturer to achieve 100 victories in the premier class. This milestone was reached in spectacular fashion at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Misano, where Enea Bastianini claimed victory aboard the Desmosedici GP. Adding to the celebration, Ducati also secured its sixth Constructors’ Championship title, with six races still left in the 2024 season—marking its fifth consecutive title win since 2020.

Ducati’s Road to 100 Wins

Ducati’s journey to 100 wins has been nothing short of remarkable. The first major milestone came in 2020, when Andrea Dovizioso secured the brand’s 50th win at Spielberg, Austria. Since then, Ducati has dominated the sport, securing another 50 victories in just four years. The success story dates back to Ducati’s MotoGP debut in 2003, when Loris Capirossi took the brand’s first-ever win at Montmeló. From there, legends like Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Iannone, Danilo Petrucci, and more have contributed to the brand’s historic achievements.

Casey Stoner remains a pivotal figure in Ducati’s history, winning the 2007 World Championship and securing 23 victories with the Desmosedici GP. Francesco Bagnaia, Ducati’s current star, has now surpassed him with 25 wins, making him the most successful Ducati rider to date. Other key contributors include Andrea Dovizioso (14 wins), Enea Bastianini (7), Jorge Martín (7), Loris Capirossi (7), and a host of other talented racers.

Dominating the Modern Era

Ducati has been the dominant force in MotoGP over the last few seasons, setting new records along the way. In 2023, the team secured 17 race victories—the most in a single season. So far in 2024, Ducati has won 13 races and continues to build on its impressive streak, with 22 victories in the last 23 GPs. The brand also boasts an incredible record of 19 podium sweeps, including the latest at the Emilia-Romagna GP.

Ducati’s dominance extends across circuits worldwide, with wins at 26 different tracks, including Spielberg (9 wins), Lusail (8), Mugello, Sepang, and Misano (7 each). The brand has also accumulated 296 podiums in the premier class since 2003, further solidifying its legacy.

Ducati Leadership Reflects on the Achievement

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, expressed his pride in reaching this milestone:

“Hitting 100 MotoGP victories and winning another Constructors’ Title is a proud moment for Ducati. It reflects years of commitment, innovation, and relentless dedication from our team. The journey from our first MotoGP race in 2003 to becoming the benchmark in the sport today is truly extraordinary. A heartfelt thanks to our engineers, riders, partners, and most importantly, the passionate Ducatisti who have supported us every step of the way.”

Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, echoed the sentiment:

“Reaching 100 wins in MotoGP in just four years after celebrating our 50th is an incredible achievement. We are the first European manufacturer to reach this milestone, and it’s a testament to the hard work of our entire Ducati Corse team. This success belongs to every engineer, technician, rider, and fan who has contributed to our journey.”

Ducati’s Legacy and the Road Ahead

As Ducati continues to dominate MotoGP, the brand’s impact on motorcycle racing is undeniable. With five consecutive Constructors’ Titles, a deep roster of talented riders, and the relentless pursuit of performance, the Desmosedici GP remains the bike to beat. As the 2024 season heads toward its conclusion, all eyes are on Ducati to see how far they can push the limits of success in the sport.

MotoGP history is being rewritten—and Ducati is leading the charge.
