JAPANESE GP CANCELLED SEPANG LOOMS SAME FATE!

With Thailand, Australia and today Japanese GP is officially cancelled due to bloody Covid19!!!!

Now fans will have to wait until the end of this month to know whether the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will go ahead as scheduled at Sepang Circuit on Oct 22-24.

The situation in Malaysia is not good at the moment as we are still consistently recording in the region of 20,000++ cases (daily cases) Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif said strict standard operating procedure (SOP) will have to be followed if the event goes ahead.

“We are still in discussion with the Health Ministry and the National Security Council, and have given them our proposed SOP for the event.

“They have given us their feedback. We will discuss this with Dorna (MotoGP rights holders) and ask them to make a decision.

“We want to host the race this year but due to the current circumstances, the Health Ministry has imposed quite strict conditions to ensure that the number of cases does not go up.

“So if the event does go ahead, they (Dorna) will have to abide by what has been set out by the Health Ministry.

“Hopefully by the end of this month, we will have a final decision on the Malaysian GP.”

The Malaysian GP was not held last year due to Covid-19. The Sepang winter test, scheduled for Feb 19-21 2021, was also cancelled due to a spike in cases at the time.
