Train The Trainer program initiated by SOCSO and supported by the Federal Territory Motor Sports Association also known as (MMRA) will be coordinated by MOTOWAZI aimed at assisting former Malaysian professional racers meanwhile raising awareness to road users in general.
SOCSO and partners of the Federal Territory Motor Sports Association also known as (MMRA) Malaysia Motorcycle Racer Associate and GIVI as sponsors have taken the initiative to invite former riders from all over the country for the Training the Trainer program to open additional income opportunities for them in addition to emphasizing the importance of road safety to other road users. The Covid 19 pandemic has affected the lives of these former riders because many
who rely entirely on the racing industry as their main source of income.
With the help of SOCSO, the training program is held for 3 days starting from March 16-18, Tuesday to Thursday at the Sepang International Circuit and involved a total of 20 participants.
Encik Wazi Abdul Hamid, the ex-national motorcycle racing legend who is also known as ‘The Kapcai King’ and has experience in motorcycle training and has also been involved in road safety campaigns for 20 years in Malaysia. He conducted this program with specially invited experts from PDRM, JPJ, Socso, Kawasaki, Modenas, Uitm and Kuala Lumpur Hospital for three days.
“The main purpose of organizing this program is to produce and train caliber motorcycle coaches as well as to promote road safety to the community with Socso as the main partner and sponsor under the CSR program.”
“Besides that, this program is also expected to take care of the welfare of former riders to continue their survival. Their knowledge and experience should be translated to help the government in road safety programs more effectively,” he said.
Among the riders who have confirmed their involvement are Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini, ex-world 250cc moto rider, Shahrun Nizam Mohd Tamin the 600cc Asian champion, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman the world Moto2 rider, and many other national motorcycle sports stars will be involved as well.
