CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP

For 28 years the words “Honda Fireblade” have been synonymous with perfect handling, balance and pure driving fun. For 2020, Honda opens a new chapter in the illustrious history of Fireblade giving life to a ‘Born to race’ bike (born to race).

Strongly inspired by the RC213V MotoGP and its RC213V-S road version, the Fireblade 2020 gains an additional “R” and becomes the CBR1000RR-R, driven by the most powerful 4-cylinder in-line engine that Honda has ever produced in series. Sharing the same bore and stroke measurements with the RC213V, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade 2020 develops a maximum power of 217.5 hp at 14.500 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 12.500 rpm, stopping the needle of the scale at only 201 kg with a full tank of gas.

The new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade will also be available in the SP version, which differs from the standard model for Öhlins electronic suspensions (in place of the multi-adjustable Showa), and the Brembo Stylema front braking system (instead of Nissin). Both versions have the same Brembo rear brake calliper already adopted for the RC213V-S.

Aerodynamics play an important role in the performance of the new Fireblade. It was designed and developed in close collaboration with the HRC designers who applied all the solutions deriving from the experience with the RC213V. In addition, the introduction of the new Bosch inertial platform (IMU) with 6 axes, which replaces the previous 5-axis, gives the new CBR1000RR-R a roll, pitch, yaw, and unprecedented level of control accuracy . Finally, in collaboration with Akrapovic, a titanium exhaust terminal was built with a throttle valve.

Both the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP will be available in two Grand Prix Red colors (inspired by HRC colors) and Matte Pearl Black .
