2019 Moto2 Champion Álex Márquez has been confirmed by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) to be Marc Marquez team mate for the 2020 season. Alberto Puig, said decision came about when Jorge Lorenzo announce his retirement right before the final race at Valencia. The younger brother of 8 time World Champion, Marc Marquez will join Repsol Honda Team on a one-year contract.
Front runners to replace Jorge Lorenzo’s seat is Johann Zarco, Takaaki Nakagami and Cal Crutchlow, but double world champion Alex Márquez has finally been chosen. Marc Marquez said in a separate interview, he said he was happy with HRC’s decision but added on he didn’t play any part in the decision.
Valencia Test will begin in a couple of hours time and we shall see Alex Marquez in action.
