The Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix will once again blaze the tracks at the Sepang international Circuit from 1st-3rd November 2019, promises a new experience for the spectators at the circuit, as expected bumper crowd during the MotoGP weekend.

The Sepang International Circuit will showcase its newly-refurbished tension membrane cover at the Main Grandstand. The new membrane cover will provide adequate shelter from the elements to fans sitting at the Main Grandstand.

In their continuous effort to provide top-class facilities for the spectators, the Sepang International Circuit has also completed the refurbishment of restrooms at the common area, grandstands and paddock equipped with new and better fittings for the comfort of spectators.

Sepang International Circuit Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Razlan Razali said the upgrading and replacement works were crucial to honour the importance of Sepang International Circuit’s biggest customer the spectators.

”We treasure our customers -the fans as they are our main priority in all of the pursuits at Sepang International Circuit,” said Dato’ Razlan.

“Over the past few months, we have extensively put in efforts towards giving the spectators better and more comfortable facilities. It is a special year as we celebrate 20 years of the MotoGP at the Sepang International Circuit and it is just right that we honour the fans at the same time.”

Over the past few years, the Sepang International Circuit has undergone various improvements, the latest being the installation of the FIM-approved lights late last year.

Changes and improvements made including the upgrading of the rooftop area, the south paddock and paddock chalet that has been well received by spectators and racing teams alike. Then in 2016, the track underwent a resurfacing process to further improve the quality of racing.

Touching on the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix this weekend, Dato’ Razlan also advised road users to adhere to the traffic diversions and the access routes to Sepang International Circuit during the race weekend.

The Sepang International Circuit, with the support from the Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), has worked out a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure fans will have a smooth journey to and from the circuit.
”As we have witnessed in the past few years, the traffic can be quite a challenge around the circuit area during the weekend,” said Dato’ Razlan. In this sense, we would like to advise fans to adhere to the changes in the traffic flow and avoid parking indiscdminately along the road.

”We would also advise fans to utilise the public transportation services available during the race weekend at the circuit.”

For the 2019 Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix, Sepang International Circuit has collaborated with RapidKL to provide shuttle bus services to the circuit from three pick-up points: KL Sentral, KLCC and KLIA2. lntra-circuit shuttle bus from the bus and car parks to the circuit entrances will also be provided, with the frequency of every five minutes.

The shuttle from KL Sentral and KLCC are priced at RM20 (one way) and RM35 (return) while from KLIA2 at RM12 (one way only).

“In addition to that, we also have collaborated with an e-hailing service provider MyCar a homegrown e-hailing ride application as our official e-hailing partner this year,” added Dato’ Razlan.

”Fans can also get a RM3 discount from their ride during the weekend by using the MYMOTOGP promo code.

”I hope all the efforts we have made will ensure the comfort and satisfaction of the fans coming to the Sepang International Circuit throughout the weekend as we celebrate 20 glorious years of the Motorcycle Grand Prix at the circuit.”

Last year saw a record turnout of 169,827 spectators for the three~day event, surpassing the numbers from 2017 of 166,486 spectators.

Local Media were taken on a tour around the circuit and on the track with on a Rapid KL bus. We also stopped a few areas on the track to and get a closer view of the track and the last minute repairs being in process for the Shell Advance Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix.
