Hong Leong Yamaha Motor today unveiled the much-anticipated, all-new high-performance Yamaha Y16ZR, the most powerful 155cc motorcycle in its class.

First launched in 2005 up to now, Yamaha Y Series has always affirmed its pioneering position as a symbol and the leading choice in the sports moped segment with outstanding sales growth.

In 15 years of shaping and developing, with significant upgrades and improvements from auto clutch gears to manual clutch, from 100cc Y100 to 150cc and now 155cc, the Y16 has conquered a large number of followers and fans who are passionate about sports and speed. The Y-Series versions are always ahead of the trend and make big splashes, thanks to Yamaha’s advanced engine power, powerful sporty design, modern features, and breakthrough technology for the ultimate city riding and commuting experience.

With the effort and goal of bringing an outstanding version of Y-Series to the rider who truly feels excited when fully mastering the ultimate acceleration, the all-new Y16ZR will be the “Taiko! of the Streets”, the new Y16ZR meets all the elements to become the most modern compact sports mopeds from Yamaha Motor. Developed with the sporty DNA orientation of legendary large displacement cars, the Y16ZR has been upgraded and changed with completely new details based on the technologies being applied in the YZF-R1 super sports bike.
