MotoGP is kicking off 2026 with a bang — and this time, the global season launch will be held in Singapore! 🇸🇬🔥
Beating out Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, the Lion City will take centre stage for the championship’s two-day showcase on 6–7 February 2026. The move comes after the huge success of Bangkok’s debut global launch earlier this year.
Sepang Still in the Spotlight 🏁
Don’t worry Malaysia fans — Sepang International Circuit still plays a massive role in the build-up. The first official MotoGP test is locked in for 2–4 February 2026, right after the rookie and test rider shakedown.
Once testing wraps up, the teams will literally pack up the trucks and make the short 4-hour road trip to Singapore to set up for the big launch event.
What’s Next After Singapore?
The second pre-season test isn’t confirmed yet. Two options are on the table:
- Head straight to Buriram, Thailand (season opener on 1 March)
- Or push it back by about 10 days, which could save costs but limit last-minute bike updates before Round 1.
Why Singapore? 🌍
From a pure logistics standpoint, KL would’ve been the easiest. Melbourne was tempting but way too costly for the teams. In the end, Singapore’s international vibe and reputation for pulling off world-class events sealed the deal.
This also proves one thing: Southeast Asia is now the heart of MotoGP — with Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore all playing key roles in the calendar.
2026 is already looking 🔥 for MotoGP fans in the region!
