Pedro Acosta Shines at Misano with Strong Sprint Performance
MotoGP returned to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, and Red Bull GASGAS Tech3’s Pedro Acosta once again proved why he’s one of the most exciting rookies on the grid. Under the warm Adriatic sun, Acosta delivered an impressive performance, securing 5th place in both qualifying and the Sprint race.
Acosta’s Rapid Adaptation to Misano
Having already gained valuable experience at Misano during the San Marino GP and a recent test session, Acosta quickly found his rhythm on the GASGAS RC16. The 20-year-old secured direct entry into Q2 and even topped Free Practice 2 before pushing hard in qualifying to secure a second-row start in 5th place.
Lining up alongside some of the sport’s biggest names, Acosta showed his trademark aggression and racecraft in the 13-lap Sprint race. He battled with KTM’s Brad Binder, eventually overtaking him and closing in on San Marino GP winner Marc Márquez. Finishing comfortably in 5th place, Acosta added another solid result to his debut season and pocketed five valuable championship points.
Looking Ahead to Race Day
Reflecting on his performance, Acosta remained focused on the main race:
“In the end, a good day. We were much faster in the Sprint than we were here last time and more consistent, but we still need to reduce the gap to the winner. We know where to improve for tomorrow.”
With his relentless pace and growing confidence, all eyes will be on Acosta as he aims for another strong finish in Sunday’s Grand Prix. Stay tuned for more updates as the rookie sensation continues to make his mark in MotoGP!
