At the heart of the Vespa 946 sits a 155 cc, single cylinder 4 stroke engine with catalytic converter and electronic fuel injection. It is mated to an automatic CVT transmission and delivers a maximum speed of 93 Km/H. The unit is fueled by a 2.2 Gallons (8.5 Liters) fuel tank and delivers an efficiency of up to 50 Km / L.
The scooter’s stopping power is handled by 220 mm dual-disk brakes which are paired with a two-channel ABS.
Other features worthy of being mentioned include ASR electronic traction control, a full LCD multifunction instrument panel, 12 inch wheels and LED headlights and taillights.

The front suspension of the Vespa 946 employs the traditional wishbone suspension arm, a distinguishing feature of the Vespa from the very first model, while an innovative solution has been developed for the rear. For the first time in the history of this scooter, the rear suspension consists of a gas-filled shock absorber with five-position adjustable preloading, mounted horizontally with a sophisticated progressive rebound system. This made it possible to achieve the pure, ethereal look of the Vespa 946 rear.
The lights are another distinguishing feature of the Vespa 946. The headlamp uses full LED technology and is fitted with a heat dissipation system. The tail light and the smart blinker lights – recessed into the body so as not to spoil the line of the scooter – are also full LED, as is the technologically stylish multifunctional instrument panel.
The saddle, on an aluminium support, is a remarkable example of design, gracefully enhancing the overall look of the Vespa 946, while delivering maximum functionality. Attached to the body by means of a cast aluminium support, the saddle, which also accommodates a passenger, is handmade in a high-quality pre-waterproofed fabric.
