Get ready for the maiden edition of the 8 Hours of Sepang “Races of Malaysia” two-and-four-wheel motorsport festival, with a double-header pairing the FIA WTCR/Oscaro and the FIM EWC for the first time in Asia.
Downtown Kuala Lumpur traffic was halted by a parade of eight FIA WTCR/Oscaro cars and fourteen bikes competing in the FIM EWC. It was a sight never seen before in Kuala Lumpur! The heat and heavy traffic couldnt stop the drivers and riders’s parade from Petronas Twin Towers to Sultan Abdul Samad Building.
The first practice sessions for the 51 machines competing in the 8 Hours of Sepang take place on Wednesday morning.
A 51th team has been announced for the 8 Hours de Sepang. The Malaysian squad – a Sepang Racing Team entry – will take to the track on a high-performance machine, the BMW S1000RR, with two of Asia’s star riders, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman and Adam Norrodin, teaming up in the saddle with French endurance racing specialist Julien da Costa.
