Right after the 2nd Day of Sepang Test, Factory Yamaha rider went out back on track to test the Holeshot Device. Holeshot Device is a device that can help get the MotoGP rider get a good start.
The Holeshot Device used by Yamaha is similar to that of Ducati as a pioneer of the Holeshot Device, namely by pressing the compression of the rear suspension to the maximum point. That makes the rear of the motor low and lock, thereby reducing the impact of the wheelie which is one of the factors of bad start.
Unlike the Ducati who put the ‘switch’ on the upper triangle on the steering wheel, Yamaha placed it on the front left side of the motorcycle tank.
Maverick Vinales, Monster Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi and test rider Kohta Nozane had the holeshot device fitted to their M1s at Sepang.
