2022 Yamaha YZF-R15M.
Hong Leong Yamaha Motor launched the improved high-performance motorcycle derived from the styling and race technology of the Yamaha YZF-R1M and YZR-M1- the new Yamaha YZF-R15M.
“The R15M is born out of Yamaha’s racing DNA that shaped legends like the M1, The R1M and the R- series. The R15M inherits the DNA of Yamaha’s flagship YZF-R1M & YZR-M1 and takes the racing quotient to next level while constantly pushing the limits and improve on riding pleasure.”
The new Yamaha YZF-R15M comes with a powerful 155cc liquid cooled Single Overhead Cam fuel injection engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) that provides optimum power. The model is also equipped with a traction control system, assist and slipper clutch, and a YZR-M1 inspired
upper triple clamp design to provide excellent balance of strength and rigidity, as well as being the first Yamaha single-cylinder motorcycle to come with a quick shifter (upshift only).
For safety, the R15M comes with a built-in side stand engine cut-off switch, along with the introduction of dual channel ABS for precise braking even at high speeds. Due to its safety
features, the Yamaha YZF-R15M has received a five-star rating from the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) under the Malaysian Motorcycle Assessment Programme (MyMAP), an initiative to promote safer motorcycles in Malaysia with the utilization of safety technology on motorcycles and enhancing consumer awareness on riding safety.
In terms of styling, the Yamaha YZF-R15M is designed with new highly dynamic fairings where
its slim profile and small frontal projection area work well with the M1-styled bubble windscreen
to help prevent oncoming wind from being drawn around the rider when in a racing tuck. In order to enhance its already sporty looks, a compact bi-functional LED headlight was introduced together with a new LCD instrument panel that displays both Street Mode and Track Mode.
The new Yamaha YZF-R15M is featured in 2 iconic colors, The Signature M and Monster Energy Edition. It also comes with the Yamaha Y-Connect feature and carbon-like seat cover
materials.
The new Yamaha YZF-R15M will be available at all authorized Yamaha dealers nationwide on June 30, 2022 with a recommended retail price of RM 14,998, excluding registration fees and insurance coverage.
