His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, highlighted that the agreement reflects Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to Formula 1 dating back to becoming the Middle East’s first Grand Prix host in 2004.

Despite regional challenges, Bahrain worked closely with Formula 1, the FIA and Malaysia to ensure the Grand Prix could still take place, allowing fans worldwide to enjoy a complete championship calendar.

FIA and Formula 1 Praise Malaysia’s Return

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem described Sepang as an important part of Formula 1 history, praising the cooperation between Malaysia, Bahrain and Formula One Management in making the event possible.
