Fermín Aldeguer Joins VR46 for 2027 — And Gets a Factory Ducati

This is much bigger than simply changing the colour of his leathers.

Fermín Aldeguer will officially join Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team for 2027 and 2028, moving from Gresini into Valentino Rossi’s squad.

More importantly, Aldeguer will become an official Ducati Corse rider and receive a factory Ducati Desmosedici GP.

That changes the significance of the move.

The Spaniard made his MotoGP debut in 2025, took three podiums and won in Indonesia on his way to Rookie of the Year honours. Despite missing races through injury this season, Ducati clearly continues to see him as part of its long-term future.

And 2027 is precisely when factory support matters most.

MotoGP moves into its new technical era with 850cc engines, revised aerodynamics and Pirelli tyres.

Aldeguer will therefore not simply inherit a mature motorcycle.

He will be adapting alongside Ducati as an entirely new generation of Desmosedici is developed.

VR46 gains one of the youngest talents on the grid.

Aldeguer gains factory machinery.

And Ducati keeps another major prospect inside its ecosystem.
