From the adventure-focused 552G to the lightweight 552H, Zontes introduces an entirely new 531cc twin-cylinder platform with 47.6PS, cruise control, advanced electronics and four distinct riding personalities.
Zontes is making an aggressive move into the premium maxi-scooter market at EICMA 2026, presenting its new 552 series with four models aimed at different categories of riders.
The new lineup consists of the ZT552T-G, ZT552T-H, ZT552T-S and ZT552T-Z, all powered by an all-new 531cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine.
Although the name suggests a 552cc displacement, the actual engine capacity is 531cc. It produces 35kW (47.6PS) at 7,250rpm and 56Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
The four models share their basic powertrain and electronic features but differ considerably in chassis configuration, styling, weight and intended use.
For a brand already known for its popular 368 series, the new 552 family represents an important expansion into a more demanding segment dominated by established Japanese and European manufacturers.

Four Models, Four Different Riding Personalities

ZT552T-G — Adventure Crossover
The most rugged version, featuring spoked wheels, a 17-inch front wheel, longer suspension travel, engine protection and an adjustable windscreen. Designed for touring and light unpaved roads.
ZT552T-H — Lightweight Sport
The lightest model at a claimed 185kg, with an aluminium chassis, shorter wheelbase and 15-inch wheels. Designed for agile urban and sporty road riding.

ZT552T-S — Practical Touring

Focused on everyday commuting, generous underseat storage and comfortable medium-distance touring. A versatile choice for riders prioritising convenience.
ZT552T-Z — Sport GT
Focused on everyday commuting, generous underseat storage and comfortable medium-distance touring. A versatile choice for riders prioritising convenience.
New Twin-Cylinder Engine — More Power and Refinement
One of the most significant developments is Zontes’ move to a parallel-twin engine for its new maxi-scooter family.
The 531cc engine incorporates twin balance shafts to reduce vibration, an 11:1 compression ratio, a forged piston and a ceramic-coated aluminium cylinder.
Power is delivered through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) using a double-toothed belt running in an oil bath.
The new engine also features ride-by-wire throttle control, two selectable engine maps and cruise control.
Zontes quotes fuel consumption of approximately 4.3 litres per 100km, although real-world consumption will depend on riding conditions and individual riding styles. Dueruote+1
Technology That Goes Beyond the Engine
The 552 series offers an extensive electronic and comfort package.
Among the reported features are traction control, dual-channel ABS, tyre-pressure monitoring, NFC keyless access, smartphone connectivity through the Zontes Smart application, electrically operated seat and fuel-cap unlocking, heated grips and a heated seat.
These features demonstrate Zontes’ intention to compete not only on engine performance but also on everyday convenience and touring comfort.
For Malaysian riders, cruise control and the more powerful twin-cylinder engine could be particularly appealing for regular highway journeys. Tech of the Four New Variants+1

Can Zontes Challenge the Competitors!!!
The arrival of the 552 series puts Zontes into a competitive segment traditionally dominated by Japanese manufacturers
The adventure-oriented 552G is particularly interesting because it offers a 17-inch front wheel, spoked rims and additional protection for light off-road riding, putting it in a similar category to the Honda X-ADV.
Meanwhile, the sportier 552H and 552Z are aimed at riders attracted to performance-oriented maxi-scooters
However, engine output is only part of the equation. Chassis balance, transmission response, vibration control, braking performance and long-term reliability will ultimately determine how competitive these new scooters are.
For Malaysian riders, the Zontes 552 family could represent an interesting step up from the existing 368 series.
The 552G appears especially suited to riders who regularly travel long distances, while the 552S could become a practical everyday commuting and touring option.
The 552H, with its lower weight and seat height, may appeal to riders who prefer a more manageable scooter without sacrificing twin-cylinder performance.
Malaysian pricing, availability and the specific variants to be offered have not yet been announced.
