Alpinestars has entered the competitive road helmet market with their latest offering, the Supertech R10. This full-face crash helmet marks a significant milestone for the Italian company, as it is their first road helmet in their 60-year history. Known for their technical riding equipment and innovations in MotoGP, Alpinestars has designed the Supertech R10 with a focus on protection, aerodynamics, airflow, visibility, fit, and comfort.

The carbon Supertech R10, homologated to ECE 22.06, DOT, and FIM standards, will be their flagship road and race helmet. Initially, a limited run of 200 Launch Edition models will be released, followed by a full production model. Although the price has not been disclosed, it is expected to be positioned at the higher end of the market. Additionally, Alpinestars plans to introduce a range of sports touring, touring, and commuting helmets in the coming years.

The Supertech R10 features a sturdy metal lock to secure the visor and a quick-release mechanism made of metal for durability. Alpinestars has optimized the fit and weight of the helmet by offering it in four shell sizes. The teardrop-shaped profile of the helmet, influenced by Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations and wind tunnel testing, contributes to improved aerodynamics. The helmet comes with two interchangeable rear spoilers, catering to road riding and leather suit compatibility, with the latter reducing drag by an additional 4.45%.

Alpinestars has incorporated side wings and sculpted the top edge of the visor to enhance airflow and stability. The design aims to reduce wind buffeting, resulting in reduced fatigue and strain on the rider’s neck and head during various riding positions.

Overall, the Supertech R10 showcases Alpinestars’ commitment to producing a top-tier road helmet, leveraging their expertise and experience in MotoGP and utilizing advanced technologies for enhanced protection, aerodynamics, and rider comfort.
