CF Moto has released a new Fun/Mini Bike that has a retro-modern style with compact dimensions and is named CF 125 8. It carries a sticker that reads “Papio x01”, with the “01” styling inspired by motorcycles from the 1980s. The bike features a dual headlamp fairing reminiscent of classic Dakar Rally Iron Horse or the Honda cb400 Super Bowl door.

Although the bike draws inspiration from the past, CF Moto has packaged it into a smaller, more affordable model. The new bike shares the same engine with the regular Papio – a 126cc capacity single cylinder and air-cooled engine that generates 9.4 horsepower at 8,500 revolutions per minute and 8.2 nM of torque at 6,500 revolutions per minute. The bike also uses the same chassis and swing arm as the standard Papio, with a wheelbase of 1,219 millimeters.

However, there are some differences between the Papio x01 and the standard version. The new model features a half fairing, which makes it wider and taller. It also has upside-down suspension in front and sportier clip-on handlebars. The rear footrest is mounted on a cast aluminum bracket, and there is a chain guard bolted to the rocker arm. The bike also has a stepped model seat that places the pillion relatively high, and the passenger pegs are suspended from the subframe instead of being attached to the rider footrest bracket extension.

The bike’s bodywork is completely new and dominated by an old-school fairing with circular dual headlights. The fuel tank has a square shape, and the charging method is similar to that of endurance racing motorcycles. The dual tail lights resemble a 1985 GSXR 750. Despite all these new features, the Papio x01 weighs the same as the standard model, which is 114 kilograms.

The retro theme continues in the cockpit, where there is one circular instrument above the upper triangular clamp with an LCD multi-function display. The Papio x01 takes a Neo-retro approach to its design by combining modern technology, such as LED lighting, with traditional styling cues.

With 3 colour to choose from, the price of the Papio XO-1 starts from RM8,888.
